2nd round of the MIT Enterprise Forum Poland

By | NEWS | No Comments

MIT Enterprise Forum Poland will soon kick off the second round of its acceleration program together with new specialized tracks and brand new programs for the Polish startups.

On Wednesday, 28th of September at the PKO Bank Polski’s headquarters, Pawel Bochniarz, CEO and co-founder of the MIT Enterprise Forum Poland, announced the second round of the acceleration program to the selected members of media, partners, and guests of honor. Polish startups that have innovative ideas at fintech, health, raw materials sector and energy are going to build up their ideas into solid business plans and find right investors.

MIT Enterprise Forum is a global organization of dedicated professionals with local chapters, affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) through MIT Technology Review. MIT Enterprise Forum has chapters in the main markets in the U.S. and a growing number outside the U.S. led by dedicated staff and volunteers who share a passion for making a difference and achieving global outcomes through tailored local and regional programs. The Polish chapter started its activity in October 2015, as the first chapter in Central and Eastern Europe.

This round of acceleration program is going to be under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Development, Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Ministry of Energy. As in the previous year, PKO Bank Polski is going to be the main partner of the acceleration program at their Fintech track called “Let’s Fintech with PKO Bank Polski”. Other partners: PGNiG with Energy track, KGHM Cuprum Research and Development Center with the Raw Materials sector track and Adamed Group will be in charge of the Health track. Other honorable partners include Visa Europe, Intel Polska, Campus Warsaw and HP Polska, and they will support the acceleration program with their know-how, presence, and great global network. The Foundation for Polish Science, the Polish Business and Innovation Centers Association and Cybersecurity Foundation also support this round of acceleration program.

Applications to the next acceleration program are accepted online from October 1st to November 30th, 2016. Startups can apply by visiting The teams must fill out a questionnaire and upload a video about their team. The whole application is to be completed in English. An expert jury composed of international investors and mentors will choose the most promising 25 startups. The program will get underway in Warsaw, early next year. Top five graduates of the acceleration program, will have the opportunity to be a part of a bootcamp at Cambridge, Massachusetts to visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and have the opportunity to showcase their startup to international investors and participate at some extensive workshops and seminars.

“The great success of the first round, with 25 Polish startups, proved to us that we should immediately up the ante and make the many opportunities of empowering other amazing startups with more specialized tracks, and with the support of the biggest players in the market as our partners. I am convinced that unique acceleration methodology at MIT Enterprise Forum and our great partner’s support will play an even bigger role in the success of the next round of the acceleration program”

says Pawel Bochniarz, CEO, and co-founder of the MIT Enterprise Forum Poland.

“More and more business founders are coming to us with new ideas. With the next round of our acceleration program, we wish to provide them with a fast and efficient opportunity to improve their business plan with the help of our international experts in specified tracks, and to advance these projects in the market. We offer potential access to a vast customer base and extensive contacts in the related industry as the courtesy of our partners and MIT Enterprise Forum’s global network that startups barely receive elsewhere.”

Startups at all maturity levels and from all over the world can apply, as long as they can register their startups in Poland and have at least one Polish founder at their team. Neither their legal structure nor the age of the team members is relevant to the application as long as they received less than 2 million PLN of funding and their startup would be less than four years old. What is important is that a team is available and can work for the duration of the three-month program in Warsaw from the end of January.

To get more information, you can visit MIT Enterprise Forum Poland’s social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) or contact Karolina możejko, the program manager of the acceleration program at k.

MITEF at the Microsoft Technology Center

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

On the June 14th, as a part of our #MITEFBootcamp, we had a pleasure of having Microsoft Technology Center as our host!

“At the MTC, we believe that people are every organization’s most important asset. They provide the inspiration and initiative to find new customers, create innovations or expand into new markets. With the right tools they can do this even in the most challenging circumstances. The MTC is a tool to help you envision, design and deploy solutions to address even your toughest business challenges.” from MTC Boston’s page.

As the “Technology Forum Series,” we had two intense workshops with Ned Sahin, on “BrainPower”

and Manolis Kellis, Professor of Computer Science at MIT and Head of MIT Computational Biology Group.

Totally recommend watching Manolis’s TEDxTalk at TEDxCambridge on “Decoding a Genomic Revolution”

Then David Birnbach, Lecturer in Global Economics and Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management, had a great speech about “Doing Business in the US” with our team.

Judging Best Practices

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Fellow startup enthusiast!

The best we’ve go in our program t is quality judging and mentoring and the giving spirit that we all share. Therefore to ensure good quality of judging we have prepared a “Judging Best Practices” webinar (yes, with our beloved Linda) – it’s for the judges to align their thinking about the program and its goals. Usually it would be done in shadow mode, away from curious eyes, but as I’ve mentioned we’re in a giving mood :p so decided to make it open to all of you to join.

Some ears dropping is both naughty and fun from time to time, therefore do enjoy it next week on  Thursday Feb 4th at 15.30 CET and maybe you will pick up a thing or two about mentoring and judging a startup in general.

To secure your free participation join our event on Facebook and register via the web form provided below.
